Green Thumb 03:54
You tend your garden every day come what may Caring for your little seeds just like me We all need sunshine we need the rain here we go again But most of all we need you Cause your love will see us through I dunno what we’d do Without your green thumb You wheel your barrow between the rows away you go A little compost for our roots makes for better fruit We all need sunshine we need the rain here we go again But most of all we need you Your love will see us through I dunno what we’d do Without your green thumb We’re lucky vegetables and trees ya only gotta ask the bees In another garden we’d survive but here with you we thrive So tend your garden every day come what may Care for all your little seeds, 'cause they're a bit like me We all need sunshine we need the rain here we go again But most of all we need you Cause your love will see us through I dunno what we’d do Without your green thumb

You built your billions - now you wanna give some back Through your corporate grants and charities, and not pay any tax All your talk of doing good, is getting old If you wanna save the world – go find a cure For the common cold Your newfound generosity paints you as a caring soul It’s not about democracy, cause you keep all the control Whoever pays the piper, always calls the tune So we won’t hold our breath, for real change, anytime soon All your talk of doing good is getting old If you wanna save the world – go find a cure For the common cold Well you try and you try But your money cannot buy all things Like a ticket into heaven or peace that a clear conscience brings An end to inequality, don’t believe their sales pitch Why would billionaires save us from problems that help make them rich All your talk of doing good, is getting old If they wanna save the world go find a cure For the common cold All your talk of doing good Do something bold If you wanna save the world go find a cure For the common cold

I waited around all Christmas Eve You never showed but I still believed I was kinda hoping we could be Together again But you never came you never showed And I was hoping that it would snow But it rained and rained guess that’s the way it goes So I’ll try again Maybe next Christmas baby Maybe next Christmas baby Do you remember that Christmas day We both woke up in disarray Looking back it seems so cliche But I remember well Making snowmen in the park Off to the pub when it got dark I’m still looking for that spark But who can tell Maybe next Christmas baby Maybe next Christmas baby The years flew by we grew apart We both moved on, and made new starts But there’s a little piece of my heart Still tied to Christmas Day So every year I try and try To turn back time don’t ask me why Another Christmas day goes by I’m thinking someday Maybe next Christmas baby Maybe next Christmas baby I remember, that December Maybe next Christmas baby Maybe next Christmas baby

Blacking out - do I, do I? next day - do I, do I? nagging shame - do I, do I? Birthday drinks - do I, do I? watcha think - - do I, do I? It’s my choice - do I, do I? Inner voice - do I, do I? Little Man 04:40

about

Here’s a bunch of delightful demos for December, forged in Fernside.
This is my fourth EP for 2022, which has been a tumultuous year, so I’m happy to get there.

It’s an eclectic mix, from a sweet Beatlesque track about gardening, your obligatory Xmas song, to one about Philanthrocapitalism (yeah, I didn’t know what it meant either).

Three are brand new and three have been hanging about on my hard drive for a bit, so it feels good to get them all out there.

Thanks to my daughter Ishbel for her backing vocals and cheers also for the feedback from my Iheartsongwritingclub. You know who you are.

Merry Xmas etc.

All songs written, performed and produced at Windybot Farm by Jim Cullinane a.k.a. tinker
